SkillsIQ is hosting an industry workshop for IPL and Laser Hair Reduction practitioners on Wednesday 6th September 2017.

Know someone who’s keen to become a barber or hairdresser? Or are you looking to find a new apprentice?

Clip Joint Education, with the support of Service Skills SA is facilitating 2 short Jobs First Employment Programs targeting youth 17–20 years who are keen to start a creative career in the Hairdressing Industry.

The ‘Fundamentals of Hairdressing’ and ‘Fundamentals of Barbering’ are both 5 week programs that will provide participants with a pathway into a Hairdressing or Barbering Apprenticeship.

Currently the project is seeking:

participants with long term career aspirations who can commit to 12 days of training (including 2 days of industry work placement) delivered over 3-5 weeks. Training will take place from 1st May–9th June 2017.

employers who are keen to provide work experience to participants with the intention of establishing an apprenticeship should the work experience period be successful.

Service Skills SA and HITsa Industry Training are offering an exciting employment training program for job seekers who want to work in the Hospitality Industry.
This two week course will provide practical skills training for food and beverage service, room attending and stewarding positions. The training includes Responsible service of alcohol (RSA), Prepare and serve espresso coffee, hygiene and job skills.


Hair and Beauty SA (HBSA) have announced that the new Trade apprenticeship of Barbering will be available in South Australia in 2017 through participating Apprenticeship Centres and Registered Training Organisations.
