The Arts community is very varied and diverse and dominated by small businesses, with people tending to have short periods of employment and many working part-time with a significant level of volunteers for community and performing arts.

The Arts or Cultural community is normally divided into 11 sub sectors:

4. Library and Information Services

5. Multimedia

6. Museums, Galleries and Cultural Heritage Sites.

7. Music

8. Performing Arts

9. Visual Arts, Craft and Design

10. Writing, Editing, Publishing and Journalism

11. Zoos, Botanic Gardens and Natural Heritage Sites.

Service Skills SA believes the Arts play a significant part in the emotional, creative and cultural well being of the population.
