The South Australian Government is committed to supporting young people aged 12-25 years achieve positive outcomes. Building on South Australia’s new Youth Strategy, youthconnect, grants are available between $10,000 and $50,000 for projects to provide opportunities and support for young people.
Grants applications need to address at least one of the following priorities:
- Health and Wellbeing - keeping young people safe from harm
Education and Training - supporting disengaged young people (17-19 years of age) to get back into education and gain a qualification Engagement and Participation - providing opportunities for young people to become actively engaged in their local community Better Connections - developing practical guidelines, tools and resources to support organisations working with young people
The following eligibility criteria apply to youthconnect grants:
- organisations must have a proven history of working with young people aged 12–25 years living in South Australia
non-government, not for profit organisations or local council Youth Advisory Committees are eligible to apply non-incorporated and education organisations may be eligible if they apply under the auspice of an incorporated body that accepts responsibility for the funded activity organisations must meet legal, child protection and insurance requirements set by relevant legislation grants are for one year only and provided on a once-off basis projects must work directly with young people aged 12-25 years and achieve positive outcomes organisations that have previously received a grant from the Office for Youth but have not met relevant acquittal requirements will not be eligible to apply for another grant until the acquittal requirements have been met.
