The Drakes Supermarkets Jobs First Employment Project (JFEP) was facilitated and managed by Service Skills SA with support from Drakes Supermarkets.
December 2015 - June 2016
Drakes Supermarkets using their enterprise RTO (The Fourth Force) delivered a job training program that provided training and support to new entry level employees and/or to current employees to increase their hours.
Delivered throughout several of their stores within South Australia 35 individuals were trained and subsequently employed and or increased their working hours.
The accredited training delivered in the program gave the individuals entry level skills for employment within the retail industry and ensured they could undertake their roles more efficiently, increase their responsibilities therefore ensuring additional hours or be placed into new positions within Drakes Supermarkets. Accredited training units delivered included:
- Work effectively in a customer service environment
- Apply safe work practices
- Monitor food safety program
- Minimise loss
Non-accredited training was also delivered to ensure that all new personnel had a greater understanding of the work practices of Drakes Supermarkets.
Case Management and Mentoring support was provided to the participants on the job and during training to ensure assessments could be completed and assist the individual with any queries they may have had to complete training, be successful in gaining employment and continue in ongoing employment.
