Retail Executive Events

RXMP Launch

The official project launch was held in conjunction with the National Independent Retailers Association conference on 21st of April, 2009 at the Adelaide Meridian Hotel in North Adelaide. The success of the launch was reflected by the healthy attendance of around 100 guests consisting of government officials, department representatives and respected industry practitioners who made up a remarkable 75% of the audience.

The Hon. Michael O'Brien MP, Minister for Employment Training and Further Education, delivered an address recognising the importance of the retail sector to SA before officially launching the Retail Executive initiative.  Following the Minister were presentations from well-known SA Retail Industry icons:  Roger Drake (Drakes Super Markets) and Alister Haigh (Haigh's Chocolates).  Alister provided an informative overview on the Retail Executive Master Plan project covering it's objectives and components, whilst Roger spoke passionately about the benefits of the project for the SA Retail sector and recognised those who had made it possible for the project to take place.

1st Industry Forum and Expert Mentor Session

Service Skills SA hosted the first Retail Executive Program (RXP) Industry Forum and Expert Mentor Session on the 20th August 2009 at the National Wine Centre and it was a fantastic success. Two hundred thirty four guests attended this premiere RXP event. It was hosted by Martin Haese of ‘Retail IQ' with special guest speakers Mark Bickley, Roger Drake of ‘Drake Food Markets' and Phil Scott from the ‘University of Wollongong'. The audience were inspired by presentations focusing on ‘Motivating Your Team' which was the key forum topic discussed by RXP participants, employers, mentors and the industry panel. All who attended had a fantastic time, enjoying the opportunity to learn, network and mentor. 

2nd Industry Forum and Graduation

The very successful second Retail Executive Program (RXP) Industry Forum and Graduation was held on the 18th August 2010 at the National Wine Centre.

The evening included inspirational presentations by guest speakers Rod Allen, President of 'Master Grocers Australia', Rob Phipps, Chief People Officer of 'YUM South Pacific' and David Evans, General Manager of 'Spend-less Shoes Australia'. The audience enjoyed listening to the MC Martin Haese of 'Retail IQ', acknowledging the first Retail Executive graduates and participating in the group activities by Derek Stamoulis, CEO of 'Leadership Learning Dynamics'.
