We are determined to make a significant contribution to vocational learning, up-skilling and workplace and workforce development by being an exceptional proactive facilitator between the Services Industries, the government and the community in a highly skilled and flexible South Australian economy.
Service Skills SA has base funding from the SA Government through the Department of Further Education Employment Science and Technology (DFEEST).
This base funding requires SSSA to provide bipartite advice between industry, community and government stakeholders on skills needs, vocational training and workforce and workplace development.
Our role is seen as one of proactive facilitation creating rapid action to deal with issues and skills shortages.
Key Objectives
- Dramatically reduce existing skills shortages and identify and preplan for emerging shortages
- Improve the availability of user driven, smart delivery, short and affordable skills training
- Establish obvious vocational career pathways in all sectors to attract and retain employees
- Dramatically expand access and uptake of commercial and technology skills
- Improve the pathway of skilled migrants into sector employment
- Improve access to skills development in regional areas
- Improve skills recognition and development opportunities for volunteers
