The Arts and Creative industries cover 11 exciting and diverse sectors which include:

Multimedia, including Software Development,
Museums, Galleries and Cultural Heritage Site
Visual Arts, Craft and Design
Writing, Editing, Publishing and Journalism
Zoos, Botanic Gardens and Natural Heritage Sites.
The South Australian Arts and Creative industries represents approximately 2.8% of the South Australian workforce. This is inclusive of 14,673 SA workers who have identified their primary source of employment to be in the Arts and Creative sector.
There is currently no data available detailing the percentage of the South Australia Gross State Product provided by the Arts, Creative and Cultural industries. Based on ABS data the number of SA Arts, Creative and Cultural Businesses is 4614. Data provided in the 2012 IBSA Environmental Scan indicates that the South Australian Arts, Creative and Cultural industries had an approximate revenue of $1.34 billion in the year 2010-2011.

Training Package Coverage
There is one overarching training package for the Arts and Creative Industry.
In January 2016 CUA Creative Arts and Culture Training Package version 2.0 was released and it replaces and supercedes:
- CUF07 Screen and Media Training Package
- CUS09 Music Training Package
- CUV Arts and Culture Training Package
- CUV11 Visual Arts, Crafts and Design Training Package.
The CUL11 Library, Information and Cultural Services Training Package components are now split between the CUA Creative Arts and Culture Training Package and the BSB Business Services Training Package.
The CUA Creative Arts and Culture Training Package version 2.0 contains:
- 53 AQF aligned qualifications
45 skill set
- 675 native units of competency
- 547 imported units of competency.
PwC’s Skills for Australia is the new Skills Service Organisation (SSO) responsible to ensure the training packages remain industry relevant. Skills Service Organisations (SSOs) support Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) to develop the training packages that industry needs and ensure they meet the needs of employers and stay current.
