The "Gateway" Job Seeker Productivity Places Project was a collaborative project with Workskil to provide the opportunity for job seekers to raise their skill levels and gain qualifications in Certificate II in Retail, Certificate II in Hairdressing and Certificate II in Fitness. The Job Seeker Productivity Places Program was an initiative by the Department of Further Education Science and Technology (DFEEST).
Based on the learning's from previous job seeker projects SSSA worked with key stakeholders to incorporate a pastoral care program to support the learning process of participants. The employment aspects of the project were supported by a group of willing enterprises which included Drakes Supermarkets, Harris Scarfs, Woolworths, Kmart, Haighs and Wendy's.
A total of 50 participants attended training through TAFESA South, TAFESA North and Drake Supermarkets with 52% of participants successfully completing their qualification.
